Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Group Investigation (GI) Berbantuan LKPD Dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa Kelas VII

Abstract

Abstrak Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan kompetensi penting dalam pembelajaran matematika, namun banyak siswa SMP masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami soal, memilih strategi penyelesaian, dan melakukan perhitungan. Hasil observasi di SMP Negeri 4 Praya menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VII kurang aktif karena pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, sehingga diperlukan model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa. Salah satu alternatifnya adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Group Investigation (GI) berbantuan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI berbantuan LKPD dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 4 Praya. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi eksperimen tipe non-equivalent control group design. Sampel penelitian adalah 40 siswa, terdiri atas kelas VII.1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang mendapat perlakuan GI berbantuan LKPD dan kelas VII.2 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan GI tanpa LKPD. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes uraian (pretest dan posttest) serta lembar observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas, uji-t independent, dan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelas. Rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 86,00 dengan rata-rata N-Gain 0,7630 (kategori tinggi), sedangkan kelas kontrol memperoleh rata-rata 66,00 dengan N-Gain 0,4392 (kategori sedang). Hal ini membuktikan bahwa model GI berbantuan LKPD efektif meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan mengembangkan model ini pada materi dan jenjang berbeda, serta menambahkan variabel seperti motivasi dan sikap belajar siswa.

Abstract Problem-solving ability is an essential competency in mathematics learning, yet many junior high school students still struggle to understand problems, choose appropriate strategies, and perform accurate calculations. Observations at SMP Negeri 4 Praya revealed that Grade VII students were less active due to teacher-centered instruction, indicating the need for a learning model that fosters greater student involvement. One alternative is the cooperative learning model of Group Investigation (GI) supported by Student Worksheets (LKPD).This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the GI model assisted by LKPD in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. The research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 40 students: class VII.1 as the experimental group receiving GI with LKPD and class VII.2 as the control group receiving GI without LKPD. Data were collected through essay tests (pretest and posttest) and observation sheets, then analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed a significant difference between the two groups. The experimental class achieved an average posttest score of 86.00 with an average N-Gain of 0.7630 (high category), while the control class obtained an average score of 66.00 with an N-Gain of 0.4392 (medium category). These findings indicate that the GI model assisted by LKPD is effective in enhancing students’ problem-solving abilities. Future research is recommended to apply this model to different topics and levels, and to include variables such as motivation and learning attitudes.
